Purchase: I bought this saddle from Stateline Tack in Pet Smart. I am 5'2" and this was the only saddle I could find that would fit my legs. I paid $495.00
Likes: This is a great saddle. I have had it for almost 6 years and it shows no wear. It fits every horse that I have had it on ranging from 12.2hds to 17hds and narrow to stock horse wide. Not only do I jump and do flat work in this saddle but I have also done sliding stops, spins and roll backs on my reining horse, much to the dislike of the reining trainer. It is comfortable for trail riding and I find it more secure than my western saddles. Even up close it looks like leather. If you take the wintec logo of the leather keepers most judges don't even know that this saddle is synthetic.
Dislikes: The only dislike I have is that if you use synthetic stirrup leathers or synthetic riding boots the flaps squeak. One more thing, the gullet guide is inaccurate, it is best to use the gullet plates themselves to size the horse.
Quality: This saddle is very well made and stands up to the rigors of showing, training young horses and teaching young riders, like a champ. The quality compares to leather saddles in the 500 to 1000 dollar price range. I am having a hard time finding a leather saddle that I like as well as this one.
Summary: Overall I would and do recommend this saddle to everyone. Horses love the cair panels and once you get the hang of the gullet system it really is quick and easy to change.
