Purchase: I bought this pad from Dover Saddlery for $100 online a few years (it was formerly known as ComforTech). I bought the standard size, 1/2" thick version for my 17" saddle and it fits very nicely.
Likes: I like how well this pad fits my horse's back. Unlike gel, it is contoured, so it sits very smoothly on my horse's back. I like it better than gel because it does not create pressure points; it eliminates them.
Dislikes: I don't like how difficult it is to clean, so I covered it with an EquiGel cover. I also wish it offered more spinal clearance, but this doesn't seem to cause an issue with my horse.
Quality: This pad is VERY well made. I've used for several years and it is in the same condition I bought it in!
Summary: If you are looking for a pad that won't alter your saddle's fit much and will absorb shock, this pad is for you! It is a bit pricey, but I'm willing to spend a little extra money to make sure my horse stays happy!
