Purchase: I purchased this girth for the cutaway contour behind the legs. I paid $144.00.
Likes: The fit is perfect for our horse, allowing free movement without pinching. The leather and construction seemed top quality, as you'd expect in this price range.
Dislikes: The design of this girth requires the girth billets to go through two leather keepers before being put in the buckles. Even with great care to only use the buckles for leverage when tightening the girth, the keepers have torn off, not once but twice. Fortunately Prestige has stood behind their product and replaced it for me both times this has happened. However, the last girth I was sent seems different. The design is the same ( and, unfortunately, will likely again break), but the belly-side of the girth now feels like vinyl, rather than a leather.
Quality: Prestige has the right idea with this contoured girth. However, they should redesign the keepers to prevent this problem of them tearing off. And, if they are now manufacturing this girth with less expensive materials, then the price should reflect the change.
Summary: Nice girth, but in my experience, more trouble than it is worth! Prestige is aware of the problem and hopefully is working on a solution. But in the meantime, check around before buying this girth.
