Purchase: I was given this as a gift at the beginning of the summer; I believe it cost $200, give or take a little.
Likes: While it is like wearing a vest padded with bricks, they are, um, soft bricks. It's actually quite comfortable and I love the heavy-duty zip up feature, paired with the adjust-ability of Velcro.
Dislikes: It is only possible to loosen and tighten the vest at the bottom, making it kind of hard to breathe sometimes. This also caused me to hunch my shoulders a little. But the worst thing is that this vest IS SO HOT. I sweated so much that I got dehydrated the first time I went cross country schooling.
Quality: Very well constructed, excellent quality. I don't think it's going to fall apart any time in the near future.
Summary: Wear this vest, but drink lots of water if you live in a hot climate. Frankly, I'd rather have a Tipperary -- they're cheaper and don't have the design flaws that this has. Try an Air-ESprit or a Ride Lite; only get the Ergo as a last resort.
