Purchase: I purchased these reins from the internet brand new for about $25.00. I needed new reins because my horse had broken the previous pair.
Likes: These reins have ties rather than screws for connecting them onto the bit. I like this because screws have a habit of undoing themselves. The leather isn't top quality, but they broke in quite quickly. The reins are a nice size (5/8" x 8') and they aren't bulky in my hand(s). The colouring is even throughout the reins.
Dislikes: The finish is nice on top, but the underneath area is rough and not dyed like the rest of the reins.
Quality: The leather on the reins and the ties are strong and supple. Horse have stepped on these reins and put a decent amount of pressure on them without breakage or significant stretching. I've had these reins for a couple of years and the colour is still even and has suffered little fading. I use these reins for schooling and they have held up nicely. I would rate the quality for reins in this price range a 4.5/5.
Summary: I don't like the underneath of the reins, so I will not show with them, but for everyday riding or just out on the trails, they are perfect.
