Purchase: I bought these boots for about $550 with shipping from Manhattan Saddlery. I needed new boots with zippers because I broke my foot earlier in the year and could not slide it into my non-zippered boots.
Likes: The Italian leather is so incredibly soft! They have more fit options than just about any boot I've seen so I was able to choose a boot that fits me just like custom. They look great and I have never gotten a blister from them (which is a big plus for me as I've gotten blisters from every other field boot I've owned). I don't mind walking around in them all day at shows; in fact, I forget I'm wearing them at all.
Dislikes: I wish the swagger tab was sewn down, but I could probably go to a boot repair shop to fix this.
Quality: Excellent quality, better than any other boot in this range. I can't imagine even custom boots being made with better leather. I've heard that the Der Dau stock boots can last at least twenty years and I'm hoping this is the case with mine. If they don't, I will certainly be buying another pair.
Summary: These boots are the best you can find, hands down. If you want to fit in with the "A" circuit crowd and don't want to spend $1200 on a custom boot, this is the way to go.
