Purchase: I searched everywhere for a good saddle that did not cost me an arm and a leg. I am not the "typical rider". We can say I am built like a ford truck! After looking forever for a saddle that would fit my rear. I happened to stop by a show to see someone. That is where I learned about the Antares. After sitting in one I was convinced that was the saddle for me. As strange as it was I found a very nice one gently used on E-bay.

Likes: The saddle I bought was a dream the first time I sat in it. For years I rode in a Cosby Prix de Nations and though it was a good saddle my leg never would " stick" to the leather. As soon as I sat in the saddle my leg stuck and did not move. The leather is very soft and supple. I have a PMU rescue horse so he is odd shaped and he is only 4. The tree on this saddle is much wider then most so though it does fit him very well now he will have room to grow into it. My horse loves the saddle as well. He has been moving much better and I can feel him move under me. The other good thing is that the saddle seems to allow less impact on my back. I have a herniated disk and it has decreased the pain significantly.

Dislikes: It does scratch easily because the leather is soft but as soon as you clean it the scratches rub out. The price was a little high for my wallet but it is worth every penny I bought it for.

Quality: As before, the leather is soft, supple and beautiful. The stitching is very nice and gives the saddle a little more flare.

Summary: I wish I had bought the saddle years prior! My back pain would not have been so bad! I would recommend this saddle to anyone especially those like me that are built more robust.
