Purchase: I bought these leathers from my local tack shop. I needed new leather because my Henri De Rivel ones had stretched out and were SO uneven. I compared them to the Pessoa leathers and the store and thought the quality of these Ovation ones was just as good, but $40 cheaper. I paid $79.95 for them.
Likes: These leathers are made from a very soft, high quality leather. At 3/4" wide and carefully stitched, they look neat on my saddle. The color is like a medium havanna and matched my BdH saddle perfectly. They have the metal at the top which makes them lie flat under your leg. I've had them about 2 months and they don't appear to have stretched at all.
Dislikes: My only complaint is the holes are very far apart. I will have to get a hole punch and punch holes every half-hole to allow more precise adjusting of my stirrups.
Quality: Like I mentioned above, I compared these to the $120 Pessoa leathers and thought they were just as nice. The stitching is neat and tight, the hardware is durable and the leather is very soft and supple.
Summary: I would recommend these for anyone looking for a higher quality stirrup leather in the $75-$125 range. They are an excellent value for the money, look good and are of good quality. Just have some half-holes punched in them!
