Purchase: I was looking for a high quality bridle that was attractive, but not too showy, for trail riding. I purchased this one for $30.00 at the Equine Affair in Springfield, MA; however, Teskey's offers the same bridle for the amazing price of $16.00 on their website.
Likes: Though it is extremely simple in design, this is such a beautiful bridle... rich color, and nicely contrasting stitching. I chose it above the fancier bridles because my horse is a loud Appy, and the subtle attractiveness of this headstall complimented his roan coloring so well! There's not much to it- simple loop-ear- but it stays put, and the fact that it has no straps or buckles makes it so easy to put on and off.
Dislikes: The only quams I have with this bridle is that the bit is attached by leather strings; though its aesthetically pleasing, it can be difficult to untie when I clean the bridle. There is no keeper for the cheekstrap, too, which is not that big an issue for me since my horse has big quarter horse jowls, but if you have lots of strap left over it might start to curl or flap.
Quality: Leather is of excellent quality, with beautiful stitching. It has held up really well, and my horse seems to like it, which is the important part : )
Summary: I love this bridle! It was SO cheap, but it is SUCH high quality... I would pay three times what I paid for it if I had to. Great trail or working bridle, but I have barrel raced in it, too!
