Purchase: I surfed the net for Gaited horse saddles. Spoke with the owner Deb R., at Crestridge, about my difficulty in finding a saddle to fit my Foxtrotter. Also, about the fact that I have a disability causing great fatigue and pain. Deb guaranteed me that I would love the saddle! She also made some changes in the weight of the saddle to accommodate my Fibromyalgia. And Jr's short straight back.
Asked for it for Christmas. And got my saddle. Total Price-$1300.00. (visa)
Likes: I absolutely love the way I feel and sit in the saddle. It fits my narrow Foxtrotter to a "T". He is tireless and gaits like crazy in it.
It stays put when trail riding even the most steep trails. It also is great when I use it for team penning.
I could ride forever in it and so does my horse!
Dislikes: Can't say that there is anything that I don't like about the saddle.
Quality: Very durable construction. Great workmanship. The leather is workable right from the start!
Summary: I would highly recommend a Crestridge saddle for anyone. With my disability, I fatigue easily, thus causing severe pain. I don't have this problem when I ride my Guffey Elite. Actually, I hate having to stop riding. My horse never fatigues, and always wants to go. His half-sisters have Tuckers (they are owned by my friends and trail buddies)They hate being saddled, never stand still, and are always way behind my horse. Their saddles are constantly slipping off. Their saddles were fitted before purchase (Tuckers).
So if I were to recommend a saddle that fits, both horse and rider, is constructed well, affordable and looks AWESOME. I would highly recommend a Crestridge Saddle.
