Purchase: I purchased this saddle brand new from the tack store one year ago. I feel in love with it the minute I saw it and thought it would be perfect. I paid aproximately $1200.00

Likes: The look was perfect and just sitting in it at the tack store on the display horse just felt perfect. It put me in a position I wanted to be in with a nice deep secure seat. It had self padded knee flaps, under the flap there were medium sized front knee blocks and rear thigh blocks, and a rich beautiful color of leather.

Dislikes: It was fine to sit on at the Tack Store, and it looked fabulous on my horse, but when I finally took it out for a test ride over the cross country course it was slippery as all get out!

Quality: Physically it appeared to be well constructed, and had a spectacular look to it but the leather was too stiff and even after riding in it for a year with regular saddle soap cleanings and leather conditioning it still was too stiff.....and way too slippery! I have 3 other professional saddles (all purchased new) for other disciplines- and none are slippery like this one always seemed to be.

Summary: It is a a beautiful saddle to look at and I admire its class and style and design... the front knee and thigh blocks are excellent but the seat itself just didnt have enough seat "grip" for me. It was too slippery/ smoothe and I thought perhaps redesigning using a "grippy" calfskin for the seat may be the solution to solve the problem I incurred. In addition, I found this saddle very difficult to sell on ebay even after reducing it more than 50% in price. It was just a year old and in exceptionally good condition.
