Purchase: I purchased this saddle used more than 10 years ago because it just had the "right look". The color (Berber Brown) and the classic style was what I was looking for. The DL is a delux edition. I paid $500 for it at the time. At the present it is 23 years old and in mint condition.
Likes: After the very first ride in it, all those years ago, I realized this was a dream saddle!! It fit like a glove -- the leather was THE BEST QUALITY EVER...and Buttery soft too! It was a joy to ride in and a joy to look at. I kept in on display in my house over the years!
Dislikes: There is nothing I dont like about it. It is perfect and I wrote a letter to Courbette company to let them know too!
Quality: The quality leather is SUPERIOR and this saddle is over 22 year old. It was well constructed (and well cared for). It doesnt have one flaw.
Summary: This is an ideal saddle for someone who likes true close contact with their horse and a saddle that fits a riders body like a glove. I still get many compliments on this beautiful saddle when I go out foxhunting and no one believes it when I tell them this saddles age. I was using it at a horse show where I met up with a representative who was able to look up the exact age and date of original purchase. At the time I was stunned at this saddles age and mint condition. I believe it held up well over 22 years of constant use because it is good quality leather and the finest craftsmanship.
