Purchase: I brought this bit from Stateline Tack about two years ago and paid around $50.
Likes: I love the copper inlay. My horse loves to chew on the bit as soon as I put it in and before I take it out. The independent side action is really great for lifting a shoulder, lateral movements, and pulling up a horses head who's bucking. I feel confidant that this is one of the softest/safest bits on the market. Because of the comfort smaffle design, there is no way that the joint of the bit can go into the roof of my horses mouth or into the toungue.
Dislikes: The only thing that I don't like about this bit is that when cleaning it is hard to get clean the grass stains out from under the covering of the middle link-the comfort snafle part.
Quality: Although the bit can be hard to clean, I would not change it's design. It is a very good bit, my horse seems to like it, and it is affordable. I have tries over ten different bits with my horse and he seems to like this one the most. I do have a problem with the sizing though. Unlike regular loose rings, I do not think you have to get a half size bigger than your horses normal bit size. My horse goes in a 5" eggbutt/dee, and a 5.5" loose ring but the 5.5" Myler is too big.
Summary: I love this bit so much I am getting another one. This time I'm getting an eggbutt comfort snaffle with a roller or an eggbutt comfort snaffle with hooks because of sizing. After switching to Myler bots I have not had any trouble bridling my horse or getting him on the bit.
