Purchase: I bought my helmet at a local tack shop for about $60. I needed a new helmet because I had bought a schooling helmet when I first started riding, than decided to show english. So I got rid of my schooling helmet and purchested a really tight and uncomfortable Hunt Cap. After only one show, when my hair grew so I could place it in a pony tail, this helmet was no longer practical (As if it ever was) so I needed a new helmet. (My third in 2.5 years) I was at a local tack shop the day of my lesson, looking for a helmet withen my very low budget. I choose this one.
Likes: I like that fact that this helmet has an ajustable knob in the back, so I always have a confortable, safe fit. Also, it is compatable with many helmet covers, so if you would like to show and are a Junior rider requiring a helmet, or would just like to change the color, you can do that. The strap also has light tan leather on it, and is easy to ajust, allowing for a safe, user-friendly helmet. If you chose that you don't want the knob to show, you can also cover it up with a helmet cover.
Dislikes: It was not the first helmet that I bought.
Quality: Nothing has broken, or fallen off. With the excaption of the Dar Mar logo on the back, however I was bord one day and ripped it off. I comes with nice padding if you need extra padding inside the helmet. Everything is of nice workmanship.
Summary: If you are required to where helmet while showing or doing any other equine activity, and wear your hair differently for different equine indevors, this helmet accomidats that. For me, I needed a helmet that would allow me to wear my hair in a pony tail and still have a safe fit for my helmet.
