Purchase: I purchased these riding boots from Kentucky Horse Supply for my fast-growing daughter. This is her 2nd pair of this same style of boots in less than a year. They cost $65 on sale (10% off).
Likes: Sturdy, comfortable, stylish, light-weight, multi-use (can be worn for riding, hiking, casual wear to school, etc.) My daughter LOVES these boots!
Dislikes: The tops are too big to fit under standard half chaps. I tried at least 3 different brands of chaps, none of them will fasten at the ankle over the Ariat Terrain boots. I happened to talk with the Ariat sales representative at KY Horse Supply about this, he said Ariat is coming out with half chaps specifically for use with the Terrain/Frostbiter boots because of the problem with bulkiness at the ankles. The new chaps should be out next month (Feb. 2005).
Quality: Well made, durable, comfortable - my child really WANTS to wear these boots!
Summary: I'd give the Terrain boots a 5 if it weren't for the compatibility problem with standard half chaps!
Since that is an issue, then I give these boots a 4.
