Purchase: Riding a lot of varied terrain, and showing several horses in speed events (with english gear), I wanted to try a non-slip pad, purely for the extra grip one could give.
I've never really had a problem with my tack slipping before, but hey - I didn't have one of these, saw it in a tack store and couldn't resist adding it to my "collection" of tack.
I bought this Can Pro non-slip pad from Equi-Products in Calgary, Alberta for a cheap $12.50 Cdn.
Likes: It's a great little pad that fits perfectly underneath a regular sized, shaped english saddle pad.
I don't even mind that it only comes in black. A white non-slip pad would attract far too much dirt.
Dislikes: Nothing.
Quality: The pad seems to be made from a thin sheet of neoprene (or other similar material) and has a few little holes spaced evenly throughout to allow the horses back to breath.
Summary: It's a great little product - glad I picked it up. The pad is pretty easy to clean too - I just put it in a sink with a little bit of soap and water, give it a light scrubbing and than rinse.
To dry it, I just hang it over a laundry line, hand rail, wherever.. it doesn't take long at all.
