Purchase: I found this saddle at Trumbull Mtn tack shop, used, for $900. I think the fact that is it havana brown (really pretty in my opinion) helped bring the price down.
Likes: The leather is beautiful and is very supple despite this being an older saddle. The colors are very pretty...the main flaps of the saddle are similar to Stubben's "ebony" color, while the flap pads and the seat are slightly lighter.
Dislikes: The wide tree is more of a medium-wide. In addition, the SHAPE of the tree is so strange...it curves a lot from front to back and "rocks" on my mare's back. It looks like it might fit a swaybacked horse!
Quality: The leather seems to have held up well. I have ridden in this saddle 3 times and realized it didn't fit my mare, so I can't really comment on the long-term quality.
Summary: I think the leather and quality is good, but the tree shape is too extreme for most horses. The newer County saddles don't have the curved tree like this one does.
Usefulness Rating: 2.8 out of 5.
