Purchase: I think I bought this through EquusNow for around $595 at the time - it included webbers, girth, saddle pad, stirrups, gullet system & shipping. I had a black 2000 already but it had a 17" seat and with the grippier equisuede, I thought I would be more comfortable in a 17.5" and I wanted brown because I thought it would look better on my horses.
Likes: I am so happy with the 17.5" seat and the brown is a very rich looking color in the equisuede. I love this saddle. My horses love the CAIR panels. I have 4 appaloosa horses that vary from super wide foundation type to TB crosses. I change the gullet from medium to extra-wide and the saddle works for all of them. I love how easy it is to clean and it still looks great after 3 years of regular riding( 3x - 5x a week - and sometimes 2 horses a day)
Dislikes: I guess I don't really care for the webbers - I sometimes put real leather on it and it works fine. I also wish they would include the Loc-tite stuff for the screws, because if you do change the gullets a lot, the screws get a little loose - although loc-tite works great.
Quality: Very well made. I use it regularly and for local shows. It cleans up wonderfully - I personally see very little wear - just what you would expect for a saddle used on a regular basis. I think I read the lifespan of these saddles is around 7 years if used on a regular basis - if you are a weekend rider, it should last a lot longer.
Summary: Love it! Would buy it again! I am buying a leather Bates for the CAIR panels and to have a leather saddle for shows - am sure I will love it like my Wintec - not selling the Wintec, though. I plan on still using this most of the time. Great for riding in bad weather, too. Gullet system will not fit all horses, but it does fit all of mine! Thanks Wintec!
