Purchase: I needed a new pair of schooling breeches and saw these ones on sale at Victoria Feeds - The Horse & Hound in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada.
They were on sale for $29.99 Cdn without taxes.
Likes: I didn't think I'd like these breeches as much as I do - in all honesty, I bought them because I needed a pair of breeches and these ones were cheap.
They have now become my favourite pair of breeches (apart from my show ones)!
They look good and wear tough. They're pull-ons but with how strong the waist elastic seems, I doubt it'll stretch out anytime soon. The gripper elastic on the bottom of the breeches, at the ankle, doesn't slip at all and isn't too tight (they're not adjustable). The material has a slight sheen to it, which is kinda neat (not like regular cotton breeches).
I'm also happy with the level of grip these breeches afford in the saddle.
Dislikes: At first I was a bit unsure of how all the seams would hold up.
There are 2 additional seams on these breeches than what are on regular breeches. (Regular ones tend to have the usual middle seam, plus 1 at the side of each leg. These breeches have the usual middle seam, plus 2 other seams on each side: 2 on the front, 2 on the back).
I've ridden hard in these breeches, through a variety of conditions - from calm to rough, and not had a problem, but the amount of seams alone might deter someone from buying them.
Quality: These breeches are made with 94% Polyester and 6% Elastan. They were only available in black when I bought them.
The stitching is tight and none of the seams have come loose or undone yet despite being used almost every second day and in a variety of conditions, for several months.
Summary: A great pair of breeches, I'd buy them again - even if they weren't on sale.
