Purchase: I ride a lot of young, unbroke horses and wanted a saddle that'd stand up to some abuse, sit correctly and was roughout.
I looked at every brand under the sun and decided to go with Rockin R. Great Choice!
I found this saddle on the Internet and ordered it at a local tack store. The store owner commented that the local college bought these saddles for the students. I paid about $750 for it, including the cost of a few minor customizations. the back girth was included.
Likes: This is a great saddle! I've had it for several months now and LOVE IT! It's the best balanced saddle I've ever ridden, english saddles included. My leg hangs straight and I don't find myself fighting to maintain a correct upper body position.
The light oil finish is gorgeous, and the roughout leather really helps if a horse blows up.
Plenty of well spaced d's for long lines, or saddle bags, a crupper, breastcollar, or anything else you could want.
The full quarter Steele Equi-fit bars have fit every horse I've thrown the saddle on.
Dislikes: As with all new saddles, it'll take a while to break it, and the fenders are really stiff. But that's a price you pay when you buy new.
Quality: Great heavy duty quality. Stainless dees, 3/4 double rigging, real high quality back cinch, some small silver accents.
Very high quality. I plan on riding this saddle literally for the rest of my life.
Summary: If you want a roughout training saddle go with Rocking R. Great product, fair price. Can't go wrong.
