Purchase: I bought this saddle from ebay for about $230 with shipping. I needed a saddle that I could school on the flat and over fences.
Likes: I bought the saddle used, so it was already broken in. The leather is lovely. It's durable, soft, smooth, and it looks nice. I love how well I can feel the horse beneath me. I was using a dressage saddle that had decent-sized knee rolls, but when I started using the Prix de Nations, I was getting a better reaction to my leg and seat aids. I got the 17" seat with a medium tree and it fits my horse and I perfectly.
Dislikes: Absolutely nothing. Most people probably wouldn't like the hard seat, but it has no effect on me.
Quality: This saddle was well made. All the stitching is in place and in good condition. The tree is sound. The leather stays soft to the touch with a weekly cleaning and conditioning.
Summary: Close contact saddles don't offer a lot of support, but if you can ride over fences well in this type of saddle, you will love this one. If you don't mind a harder seat, this saddle is quite comfortable. I personally would show in this saddle even after the years of use it has endured.
