Purchase: My coach won this saddle rack at a local show. It's designed for an english saddle only and costs around $28.00 Cdn (without taxes) from various tack stores.
Likes: It looks nice. There are 2 arms with come out from the main part of the saddle holder. You put your saddle onto the holder and fold the arms back in, then lock them together. It's supposed to prevent someone from stealing your saddle - or at least give them a hard time trying to get it!
Dislikes: It didn't fit any of my coaches saddles, and when she let me borrow it to try, it didn't fit mine either. We both use A/P saddles and the arms wouldn't close properly around them.
Quality: Decent construction and nice looking (the unit has a gloss black finish), though after doing some research online, I see that this rack is designed for C/C saddles only.
Summary: My coach was pretty disappointed when she found that the locking rack she won didn't fit her saddles.
It definitely would be useful in a public barn though, as long as the user had a C/C saddle! I looked around to see if the manufacturer had an A/P version, but no luck yet.
