Purchase: I needed a fairly accurate measurement of my horses weight to give her dewormer. Greenhawk (all locations in Canada) sells the Easy Measure tape for $7.00 Cdn plus taxes, but I bought it on sale for around $4.00 Cdn.
Likes: It's something every horse owner should have in their tack room or first aid kit.
The tape itself is made of nylon so it's tough and weatherproof (this was proven when it was accidentally dropped in a muddy puddle but came out looking like new when everything dripped off!). I like that the bottom of the flexible tape gives you a spot to step on when measuring height so the tape isn't flopping around.
Dislikes: Some of the printing is a tad fuzzy (or maybe it's just my eyes!). I wish some of the measurement text was a little bigger which would make it easier to see in low light conditions (such as barns).
Quality: A nylon measuring tape that measures in both hands and centimetres, pounds and kilograms.
It measures up to a whopping 20 hands, and 1,398 pounds, but looks as if it would even be able to measure a miniature horse. Very versatile.
Summary: A great measuring tape - one of the better ones I've seen. Despite being dropped in said mud puddle (oops again!), the measurement text hasn't worn off and the little metal strips that stop the ends of the tape from fraying haven't corroded.
If Horse Tack Review came out with a 'Top 10 Must Have Products for 2008', this little one would have to be at the top of the list.
