Purchase: While browsing through Picov's in Ajax, Ontario, Canada recently, I noticed that they're now selling the Picador double-sided dandy brush. It was around $6.00 Cdn without taxes.
Likes: The brush looks pretty neat, and the idea is good (to cut down on brushes in your tack box and make grooming simpler) so I decided to pick it up.
The bristles on one side are softer. The bristles on the other are more stiff. Since you've got both brushes at hand already, it stops you from digging in your tack box to find a specific brush.
Dislikes: The handle could use a little improvement, but I'm not exactly sure how. Maybe it's because I'm used to traditional brushes, but I find it a bit harder to get the 'flick' of my wrist with the double-sided brush. That flick is what sends (or is supposed to send!) dirt and dander from your horses coat flying.
Quality: The brush has a wooden base and long handle with two different types of nylon bristles; soft on one side, stiffer on the other.
Summary: A good idea, that with a few small improvements, would be excellent.
