Purchase: I bought this saddle for $1150 on clearance (they retail about $1600, I think) from the manufacturer on www.gaitsofgold.com after test riding one of these saddles on my new horse.
Likes: This saddle is COMFY!!! It has supracore padding around the saddle tree to cushion the horse and under the seat for the rider's comfort also. It is a very nice saddle for trails, as the stirrups are set forward about an inch more than the average saddle and provide AMAZING knees and ankle relief. I have a lot of trouble with my leg cramping up after a ride and this has never happened with this saddle. not even sore!
This saddle is made with very high quality standards and is a good buy for a trail or recreational rider. if you are looking for a show or schooling/ring saddle, look elsewhere.
Dislikes: However it is only OK to school in because to the stirrup placement. It is difficult to keep your feet properly lined up in an equitation position.

Quality: Very good construction and quality. This looks like a built-to-last type of saddle. Quality leather and materials.
Summary: I give this an A+ for trail/endurance/recreational riding, but would have to say look elsewhere if you are looking for a saddle to school or do ringwork in because of the forward stirrup placement.
