Purchase: I purchased this product at my local Tractor Supply store. I paid $5.49 a bag. The bags are 15-20 lbs. in weight. I was getting tired of paying money for shavings that only last one day and DO NOT take care of the ammonia/urine smell.
Likes: I like that these pellets keep the smell down, last for months, keep the stall pretty dry, and make less of a mess than shavings.
Dislikes: I don't like how many bags I have to buy. You have to buy about 6 bags for a 10 x 12 stall and add in every week to keep it working. I have 3 horses, and it isn't that cheap. The bags are also VERY heavy and I would recommend using a wheelbarrow to carry them out to the barn.
Quality: These pellets REALLY do last pretty long! You have to spray a fine mist of water over them to soften them up and make them expand so that it lasts longer and the horse is comfortable while standing on it. They DO keep the smell down and my horses seem to like it a lot!
Summary: I would recommend this type of bedding any day! Tired of shavings? Tired of the dust, black & red color you have to clean up every week? Tired of the smell? Try Equine Pine! It's biodegradable!
