Purchase: While technically a quilted western underpad (to keep your western saddle pad clean), I use these as baby pads for under my english saddle.
If I'm riding multiple horses, I'll use these instead of a regular shaped english saddle pad as they're quicker and easier to wash.
I bought a few of the quilted pads from Victoria Feeds - The Horse & Hound in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada for around $7.00 each, Cdn.
Likes: I fold about 1/4 of the pad under itself, which makes it fit properly under my english saddle.
Instead of having to wash as many regular, bulky saddle pads as needed for as many horses I'm riding, these significantly cut down on the load in the washing machine. They're lightweight, offer some protection to the horses back, and easy to wash. At just over $7.00 a pad, they're also a great 'stock-up' item.
Dislikes: Nothing really.
Quality: Quilted cotton pad normally used to keep western saddle pads clean when they're on the horse, these also work great for under english saddles.
30"x30" size and available in white, black, navy and hunter green.
They're cooler on the horses back during those sweltering summer months, and have held up great considering how much use they have gotten around the barn.
Summary: A good little saddle pad. When the ones I bought finally wear out, I'll buy another few.
