Purchase: Our friend gave us this saddle as a gift after discovering how much she loved her own Wintec 2000.
Likes: This saddle is quite comfortable for both horse and rider due to the CAIR panel system and the equisuede seat. It also features the interchangeable gullet system so that the width can be changed to fit any horse. The saddle is very convenient to clean, because you do not have to oil it like a leather saddle- you can simply hose it down after each use.
Dislikes: The Wintec stirrup leathers are meant to be thin, but the unique fastening system sometimes scrapes my leg. Also, the flap of the saddle is a little more rigid than well oiled leather, so it can rub the bottom of your leg if you are not wearing chaps or tall boots. Another thing is that though you can change the gullet size, I sometimes have problems fitting the saddle to my small pony because the bars don't always get narrower when the gullet does.
Quality: The saddle is constructed well and does not fall apart. It also looks nice for longer than leather does, because there is no dye to rub off. The materials and construction are overall good.
Summary: This saddle is a good choice for anyone wishing to do any any pleasure riding, hunter, endurance, and maybe a little jumping. It might even be good for a beginner to show in, though it is best to show in a leather saddle.
