Purchase: I bought this on clearance from Tackroominc.com for about $45 because I needed a new blanket for my horse.
Likes: One thing I have hard a lot about weatherbeetas is that they are too big on horses. I have never found this to be the case, and this is certainly not the case with this blanket. Front to back it fits just perfectly, and measures just a few inches bigger than my mare measures. I like the tail flap, and the bias surcingles with leg straps hold it in place quite well.
Dislikes: Oddly, I find it a bit small for my mare. She is 14.2 hands and wears a 76" blanket (she is long backed). Front to back it fits her perfectly, but I can see her tummy and it isn't covered! It doesn't seem like a very warm blanket if her body is covered but not her belly. Just to see, I tried it on a couple of my others who wear the same size and the only one who's belly it covered was my yearling, who is all leg anyhow. None of my adult horses could wear it and not have a bit of belly show.
Quality: This is a mid-grade turnout sheet. I don't expect it to last more than 1-2 years, as it isn't very high denier and she does spend a considerable portion of the day outside with other horses. However, it may surprise me yet.
Summary: I think I would keep shopping. This is an attractive price, but they don't seem to fit horses well and I am a bit leery about the quality. If you live in a climate where horses don't need blankets more than a few days a year this may be just the one, but I wouldn't put it on a blanket destroyer. I would skip over this blanket if you live in a northern climate; I don't think it's rugged enough for everyday use and it doesn't fit the best, anyhow.
