Purchase: I got the old Macs all Purpose boots through State Line Tack. They cost $140.00 Plus the extra expence to have the inserts so the boots would fit snug. They cost $14.00. My Horse has and old injury that damaged his hoof on the outside. His hoof did not grow back as fast as it should have because he was also malnurished. He can not hold a normal shoe no matter how the shoe is put on.
Likes: My horse now has correct hoof balance and can hold any rider on his back. Before the old Mac Boots he could not hold just anybody because his hoof would roll inward. He also nevery had all four shoes on at once. These are quick to put on and they are light enough so it does not lugg him down when he moves. They can be taken off when he is not being rode so his hooves can air out and be in there natural state.
Dislikes: I did not like how you would have to buy another inner boot for the horses leg to keep the boot from rubbing. I did not get these because the first book that the boots cvame out of did not have them in it. So I went from using cotton soccer socks to finally polo wraps. I think that the boots should be made so they do not rub your horses legs. They cost enough already so you should not have to buy more.
Quality: The bottom of the boots is a hard rubber that helps my horse stay up on his feet. I have had a few times when I have come around a corner and thought that he would slip but these boots kept him from doing so. they are 100% water resistent and you can go through water and they drain out the holes at the bottom. They are rust free and made with real leather.
