Purchase: I purchased the Level 2 pack and 22 foot line online. I bought my riding halter at a Parelli conference held in the Minneapolis Fairgrounds. I bought my Parelli bridle off of craigslist (haven't tried it out yet). I bought these items after having passed Level 1 and wanting to continue. The Level 2 DVD kit cost $225 (Savvy Club Price).
Likes: I like the book by Dr. Stephanie Burns about overcoming fear. It helped my a lot because I was nervous about riding in areas bigger than a round pen. And also felt wary when it came to trotting. The DVDs are also a helpful thing to have because you can re-watch them. The shim pattern was helpful for balancing out my saddle.
Dislikes: The only set back would be the cost, but I say it is worth it! Just compare it to training and lessons. If you are unsure if Parelli is for you I suggest checking it out from your library or buying a used set off of craigslist. Make sure to buy the updated, newer version (blue package). Anther way to save $$$ is to join the Savvy Club (even for a month or two) to get the good discounts on kits and clinics.
Quality: Equipment is very high quality and made to last a long time.
Summary: I would suggest this to anyone feeling unsatisfied with their current training or if they're feeling unsure, unsafe, or like they're missing communication with their horses. It is a good idea to find other Parelli people in your area to network with, get ideas from, and to support each other.
