Purchase: I needed a good leather polish for my show boots. My husband, who is excellent at working leather, recommended Tana.
I bought a 70g tin from Zellers in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada for around $5.00 Cdn without taxes.
Likes: I love this product. With a little elbow grease and this polish, I'm able to bring out an excellent shine on my boots.
It's a thick polish and true black in colour.
Dislikes: Sometimes it can be a little messy, but that's expected. I always put a piece of newspaper underneath the boots I'm polishing which makes clean-up a lot quicker (and I try to remember to NOT wipe my face before I've cleaned my hands off!).
Quality: Tana says "for a durable, high gloss shine". I found the polish to be quite durable and produce a really good shine.
The polish comes in a cake, rather than cream, and I almost always heat it up a bit before applying it to my boots. It allows the polish to spread better and absorb, producing a more even sheen.
It comes in a sturdy little tin, with a foil covering inside and a little twist-off opener on the outside.
Summary: A great polish, I won't look any further.
(And just a tip to those uninitiated: Remember to NEVER polish the inside of the riding boots - the part that makes contact with your horse. You'll end up with strange looks and one heck of a black mark on your horses sides!)
