Purchase: I purchased this blanket from Tractor Supply Co. for my thoroughbred whose thin winter coat allows for major weight loss in the winter. I paid approximately $90 for this blanket, which is a good price for the quality of this product.
Likes: I am very happy with the Orican turnout blanket. It is fits my horse who has HIGH withers extremely well. It is truly waterproof and keeps my horse warm. However, I also like the fact that this blanket is very breathable, as weather in my area often has temperatures that change by 30 degrees (F) during the day. My horse has been comfortable from 55 to 15 degrees (F) in this blanket.
Dislikes: I have had no problems with this blanket or any of my other Weatherbeeta products.
Quality: I have used Weatherbeeta blankets on my horses for 15 years. In fact, my old show horse (25) still wears his Orican turnout blanket that we bought for him ~15 years ago. That blanket is still warm and waterproof despite being washed (a couple of times) and used every year!!!! That's the QUALITY that has kept me using Weatherbeeta as my standard in horse wear. This newer Orican model is great. It is a nice 1200 denier nylon exterior with a smooth nylon lining that leaves my horses coat in excellent condition. The hardware on these blankets will last for years and years. In addition, straps and velcro are placed in excellent locations to keep these blankets in place even during play.
Summary: Overall, Weatherbeeta produces very nice horsewear for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend their products!!!
