Purchase: It's usually too early in the season (if you don't have hot water at the barn) to bath a horse for spring schooling shows. Bathing in cold water while the temperatures are low will make your horse sick and most people won't risk that. I tried out Absorbine Miracle Groom last spring after seeing my coach use it. She paid around $15.00 Cdn for a 950ml spray bottle from Picov's in Ajax, Ontario, Canada.

Likes: The horse I saw my coach use Miracle Groom on is a bay (and mine is a chestnut - both are without white) so I can't speak for how well this product removes stains. Even if our horses had any, you wouldn't be able to see them. It did, however, do a decent job of cleaning our horses up after the winter. Their coats showed no obvious dust after using Miracle Groom (though I'm sure if you gave them a hard curry afterwards more dust would've come up) and it did make them look a bit better. All you do is spray on the product, rub it in and then brush the hair back to where it was.

Dislikes: The price tag. I didn't expect a small bottle to be that expensive.

Quality: Miracle Groom is supposed to be a "5 in 1" product - it's supposed to clean, condition, deodorize, detangle and shine. It comes in a liquid or wipe form, depending on what you prefer. Works without soap and water. Safe for dogs, cats, sheep, llamas and cattle. Repels dust and dirt. Doesn't leave a greasy feeling afterwards. Water based. Contains vitamin E and Aloe Vera.

Summary: An okay product, but I wouldn't call it a miracle. It did make our horses look better, but didn't clean deep enough to remove all the dirt (we didn't expect that anyway considering how dirty our horses really were). It's good if your horse needs a quick clean-up and you don't have access to water for whatever reason. Due to the price, it is something I would use sparingly. The results aren't perfect, but they are passable.
