Purchase: Knowing I needed a pair of bell boots for one of my horses, a friend got these for me quite a while ago.
Sayles Saddlery in Calgary, Alberta, Canada sold them for around $8.00 Cdn / pair without taxes, though the company (Sayles) is now out of business.
Likes: The velcro which closes these bell boots was very tough and was stitched securely.
Dislikes: The rubber was very stiff. So stiff, in my opinion, that if the horse stepped on it, it would probably break instead of give (though I didn't have that experience - the boots weren't on my horse long enough to give a true test ride).
The lip at the top of the boot was also very stiff and I wouldn't recommend these boots to anyone with a sensitive horse (one who rubs easily).
Quality: Each boot is made of smooth, stiff rubber with a very slight lip on the top. Two heavy duty velcro straps close each boot.
Summary: I think the velcro on these bell boots was the best part about them. I appreciate my friend picking these up for me, and I did thank her for being so thoughtful, but I got rid of them at a tack swap.
I tried them on my horse for all of 2 minutes before deciding I didn't want to go any further.
