Purchase: I first became acquainted with Tony and Sycamore Creek Saddles while searching Ebay to support my new hobby. My wife and I purchased two beautiful Paso Fino horses in 2007 and were in need of some breed specific tack. As I began my search I was frustrated and a bit concerned due to the prices most wanted for Paso tack. That is until I found Tony and Sycamore Creek. Well, in order to be completely honest in this review, I purchased my CTK saddle from another seller and paid a lot more. Tony and Sycamore Creek, the North American distributor, were still in charge of making sure my saddle was delivered to my satisfaction. A concern the seller apparently did not share. The Taso 14, handmade in Columbia, South America is an awesome saddle for a mere $450, which included shipping. The saddle is $450 at Sycamore Creek Saddles, I, unfortunately paid much more.
Likes: Price, Quality and Service. The CTK. Taso 14 is a wonderful gaited horse style saddle that fits me and my horse perfectly. It is hard to believe that someone can purchase a handmade, quality saddle for this price. The materials used are good quality and the saddle is well made. This saddle is not stamped on an assembly line. It is a solid, handmade piece of equipment. Just as important as the quality of the equipment is the quality of customer service I received from Sycamore Creek Saddles. Although, to my financial loss, I didn't purchase directly from Tony, he has treated me as if I did.
Dislikes: There is nothing I do not like about this saddle. It is well made with quality material at a price even I can handle. There was an issue with the fenders, which I mentioned to Tony. This was not a structural issue, but more of a fit issue due to my being 6 ft and 200 lbs on a horse that might make 14h on his tip toes. A few weeks later I received a new set of fenders from Tony, no questions asked. Now that is customer service! If I had purchased directly from Tony, I would have had the opportunity to get it right the first time.
Quality: The CTK TASO 14 from Sycamore Creek is a awesome saddle. It is handmade in Columbia, South America with good quality material. It is a solid unit that is very comfortable for rider and horse. My wife's horse came with a well broken-in Ortho Flex saddle that lists for over $2000. Mine is just as comfortable, and as well made.
Summary: The bottom Line? I said it earlier, Price, Quality and Service. That is a winning combination. I highly recommend Sycamore Creek Saddles and Tony Pritchett. I had the opportunity to meet Tony at a show in Jacksonville, Florida and checked out other CTK saddles. I can't wait to purchase again!
