Purchase: My coach has one of these and uses it to hang bridles that need to be cleaned. I thought it looked like a useful thing to have, so I picked one up from Victoria Feeds - The Horse & Hound in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada. It was around $5.00 Cdn with taxes.
Likes: In regards to safety, I like that the hooks are curved upward enough to not poke someone in the eye.
The welds look good, too. The eyelet at the top of the tack hook is large enough to hang it off of a variety of things.
Dislikes: I wish the hook ends were rubber dipped or something. The chances of scratching your tack on them is pretty slim - and the rubber will fall off eventually (after being exposed to sunlight, cold, wear & tear, etc) but that's the only thing I can think of. I guess it's more of a finishing touch.
Quality: Made of metal, there is a loop (large eyelet) at the top to hang the hook and 4 hooks at the bottom to hang gear on. There is also a 2 prong model to save space.
Summary: A handy and useful thing to have in the tack room. We've used it to hang bridles, harness pieces and girths that need to be cleaned - or ones that have just been cleaned (when oil needs to soak in) and it's also served as a helmet, coat and crop holder at times.
