Purchase: We've been using Duraflex buckets for a long time as they are extremely tough.
We bought one of the 12 quart heavyweight pails from Agrico in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, Canada for around $14.00 without taxes.
Likes: These buckets are indestructible. They've been left out in the horse field, nibbled and licked by our horses, kicked around and stepped on, frozen and thawed and they're still going strong.
Apart from the label being torn up and in some cases missing, these buckets look like new.
The bucket construction itself is strong enough that when it's tied in the stall by its handle, and the horses are rooting around there for feed, it hasn't broken under the strain.
From the first day we buy these buckets (and give them a quick rinse out under clear water) our horses eat and drink from them. Even though there seems to be a bit of a smell from the rubber, it's never posed a problem and doesn't seem to get into the feed or water the bucket holds. The smell also disappears after a while.
Dislikes: The price. These buckets are initially expensive, but pay for themselves after years of use and abuse!
Quality: Polyethylene and rubber bucket with a non-rust metal handle. The ends of the handle are rubber coated for safety.
Only available in black.
Summary: These buckets are excellent and we'll continue to buy them. We use them around the farm for horse feed and water inside the stalls and out, for our dogs water bucket in his pen, and a variety of other things.
