Purchase: To give our horses a nibble (at shows, for example) without wasting feed, we use the Duraflex 4 Quart Feed Pan.
They're around $9.00 Cdn (without taxes) at various farm and feed supply stores.
Likes: These feed pans are the perfect size for when you're giving your horse a snack, and are pretty much indestructible afterwards when the horses are pawing for more.
(And if your horse is good enough to take powdered medication without it being disguised too much, this feed pan is also the perfect size to add a little grain and the medication instead of using a big, regular sized bucket where things get pushed around more).
They don't rust, and bounce back into shape immediately if they're squeezed or stepped on.
Dislikes: As with other heavy duty buckets and feed pans like this, the price. They are initially expensive but pay for themselves after years of use.
Quality: Polyethylene / rubber construction. They have a wide, flat bottom and low sides so tipping these pans is hard.
Summary: We're a big fan of Duraflex products and will continue to use, and recommend, them.
