Purchase: I wanted to get a nice saddle that would last a while, so my parents and I decided we wanted a pessoa. I got it lightly used - broken in - off of eBay for $600, a great deal for the quality.
Likes: Everything! The color of the leather is beautiful, I love the two-tone and it looks great on all horses. The seat is just padded enough to be comfortable but not too squishy. The knee rolls are very helpful. The stirrup bars are easy to use and in a great place to help leg position. This saddle is great on the flat and over jumps; it suits me perfectly.
Dislikes: It is easy to stain this with leather-cleaner, so you have to be careful. The stitching has come out a bit at the bottom of the flap, but that doesn't matter in my opinion.
The girth buckles make marks on the back of the flap.
Quality: Most of it, except for the minor flaws mentioned above, is excellent. The leather is soft and buttery and easy to clean. It's grippy but not rough, thus making it great to ride in. I don't think this saddle is going to fall apart too soon.
Summary: Amazing! I completely recommend this saddle for anyone who does hunter/jumper. Don't just keep it in the tack room for shows! It's excellent for lessons and easy to clean if you want to show in it. I suggest that you look for these on eBay, because you find some barely-used ones for half the price of the retail.
