Purchase: To go along with my new Reinsman browband headstall, I wanted a good pair of leather reins. Victoria Feeds - The Horse & Hound in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada sells the matching Reinsman split reins for around $30.00 Cdn without taxes (if I remember correctly).
Likes: These are buttery soft reins right from the get-go. There's no need to break them in and (shhh...) I didn't even oil them before I used them because they were so soft (I'll do that later).
Dislikes: I kind of wish these reins had buckle ends instead of ties, but it's not a huge deal.
Quality: 5/8" 7' split reins. Hand polished and hand edged with tie end water loops, these reins are a thing of beauty. I got them in the Rosewood colour (a rich reddish brown) to match my headstall, but Reinsman sells the headstalls and reins in lots of really nice colour choices.
Summary: A great set of reins. So far I'm very happy with the Reinsman products I have, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Reinsman gear to anyone else!
