Purchase: I purchased this product at Tractor Supply Co. for $5.49 a bag. I really needed bedding that would last more than one day and keep the ammonia down in the stalls.
Likes: I like that this bedding is easier to install. It is far less dusty than shavings and REALLY works to keep your horse's stall dry while eliminating odors.
Dislikes: I don't like the fact that I have to buy several bags, like 10 at a time in order to get the most use out of the bedding.
Quality: The bedding is pelleted and comes in a 40lb bag. It REALLY works! It is all natural and is biodegradable. You have to spray a fine mist of water over the pellets after you've spread them out. This softens the pellets and makes them expand to absorb more and keep your horse comfortable while standing in it.
Summary: I highly recommend this bedding, BUT, if your horse is the type who will eat their bedding, I would NOT recommend it. It's easy for some horses to mistake the pellets for feed before they expand and it could cause colic/other problems. This bedding is for individuals who can handle such bedding.
