Purchase: I bought this western cinching mechanism online from Valley Vet for $28.99 & free shipping, because I need to be able to adjust my cinch while atop my tall Friesian without dismounting. I also wanted something that would unhitch easily in the event I want to get the saddle off quickly. "It's A Cinch Camlock Pro Series" accomplishes both objectives very nicely.
Likes: Once rigged, it's easy to use. The instructions are clear. It is made of nonstretching nylon with plenty of length for several passes through the cinch rings for a secure hold. Both cinch tightening and release are a breeze, as advertised. It's a snap to clean.
Dislikes: One suggestion I would make is to consider lengthening the lip on the safety band to prevent it from slipping behind the locking buckle and to make it easier to pull out of the way when lifting off to open the locking buckle to tighten cinch.
Quality: The product seems to be well made and I expect it to last a long time without replacement.
Summary: The product does what it promises. I would recommend this product for anyone who is (a) concerned about saddle slippage after mounting, (b) wants a simpler yet just as safe way to cinch a western saddle, (c) has a tall horse and/or (d) does not enjoy mounting and dismounting for the sake of cinch adjustment.
