Purchase: I bought these through tack wholesale a couple years ago. I was looking for a good pair of open front jumping boots for schooling, but I did not want to pay $100 for a pair of eskadrons, so I figured these would be a good alternative. They cost $27.50.
Likes: Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dislikes: As soon as I opened up the package I knew that they were a piece of junk. The description at tackwholesale.com says: "These open front boots are made of a hard outer shell and a soft neoprene lining. Contoured shape to fit most horses perfectly." What a joke. They were not hard at all, but rather a limp flexible rubber. You could take the whole boot and bend it in half! Plus , they were not contoured to my horses leg and seemed as if they would provide little to no protection at all. I showed them to my trainer and as soon as she felt them she said to send them back because they were useless.
Quality: Since I never actually used them, I cannot say how they would have held up, but my initial response to the materials is very poor.
Summary: These boots are a complete waste of money. I called the people at tack wholesale and told them what I thought, and thankfully they took them back and paid for the shipping (although they said that they would change the description on the site, which they never did) I ended up buying a pair of the ROMA open front jumping boots and those were much nicer and have lasted me 2 years now (for the same price!)
