Purchase: I was looking for a higher quality dressage saddle that wouldn't break my bank and I bought this on ebay with a cheap set of leather/irons for $330. A solid steal for what I got! This saddle retails for about $1800.
Likes: I LOVE the leather, period. Super soft, just very sturdy and secure leather on every part. Deep seat, monster knee rolls for security (but I can still move), long flap, nice high gullet for bigger withered horses, and a perfect fit for my horse! Measured in the usual 28-36cm widths (I bought the 31.5 for my modern bred QH mare) which is actually almost a little wide. Oils well and cleans to a high dollar shine! Absolutely love it!
Dislikes: Leather on seat is almost too soft; scratches fairly easily. I have almost completely stopped oiling it and just have been using leather wipes instead. The billeting system leaves a little to want; it is the v style, but the billets on this saddle needed to be replace (knew it) and it has proven a difficult feat due to the way the billets run under the knee roll. I wasn't thrilled over the billets themselves either, they were almost too nice a leather and had stretched from the previous owner fairly significantly. I'm not sure if this is manufacturer or previous owner issue (oiling?), though the leather is soft and thinner than I like in my saddles.
Quality: Definitely a higher end saddle. German made, soft, strong, supple EVERYTHING. Very nice.
Summary: I am EXTREMELY pleased with this saddle. My only issues I think are due to it being a used saddle. Would strongly recommend. I LOVE IT:)
