Purchase: I bought my 17.5" MW tree forward flap BC Quantum from Kim Peterson at Engage Saddles. I was looking for a wool flocked saddle that was affordable and available in a forward but not long flap. I was very impressed with the amount of choices available at a great price! I paid under $2k for a demo/used model. Kim was wonderful to work with, I would recommend her to everyone!
Likes: I love everything about this saddle! The leather is fantastic, the balance and fit is perfect. My horse has been quitter and happier than he has ever been, I never noticed that my old saddle didn't fit, but now I see how much better he can go with something that fits him perfectly! It is the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden in. It definitely is just as nice as many of the saddles in the $4k price range, with so many custom options you can build it to be whatever you want! Another big plus for me is that Kim can re-adjust the tree and panels when I buy a new horse so the fit will remain perfect!
Dislikes: Nothing. My trainer isn't wild about the color (it's black), but I like it, and it looks great on my horses. You can get it in any color leather, FYI, just mine is black.
Quality: Leather is butter like and durable at the same time, doesn't need any breaking in despite the fact that it is basically brand new.
Summary: Best saddle I have found in my price range hands down, and in my opinion BC saddles are just as fine a quality as the french saddles that are "in" right now. They can sell the BC saddles for a great price because they come directly from the manufacturer.
