Purchase: I first purchased the Kensington Roustabout Light Weight Turnout blanket from a friend. Her horse had out grown it before winter and it would not fit. I only paid $50 at the time last year. I bought another similar blanket last month on E-Bay for $100. They are used for turnout or daily in the fall and winter if I body clip one of my horses.
Likes: This blanket is easy to handle and perfect to use in my Alpine, CA climate. It is very practical to take on and off. This blanket is extremely durable and fits my horses perfectly. It is machine washable.
Dislikes: There is nothing to dislike about this product!! However, at retail price this product is $200+.
Quality: The Kensington Roustabout Light Weight Turnout has easy snap cross belly straps with elastic leg straps and 2 adjustable stitched front straps. These leg straps can be used if a Kensington Protective Sheet is used over the Turnout for added protection. This blanket is water proof and has no seamless back. The cotton neck piece and tail piece are removable. The blanket is 600 X 1200 denier rip-stop outer shell, hollow fill, breathable and waterproof. It has a cool plus absorbent liner.
Summary: The Kensington Roustabout Turnout blankets are perfect for turnout and are warm enough for temperatures down to 20 degrees. It is my favorite winter blanket.
