Purchase: I purchased this saddle on tacktrader.com. It was brand new and I paid $1200. It retails for $1500.
Likes: I learned to ride using an english saddle so when I decided to look into purchasing western tack I asked around and was told that Reinsman had excellent saddles. When I found one on tacktrader.com I didn't hesitate to buy it. The craftsmanship is of the highest quality. The leather is soft and beautiful and the subtle design that is carved around the seat is handtooled, not stamped like some of the other saddles I've seen. The black padded leather seat sits deep and has a 4" cantle. It's extremely comfortable and I feel completely secure in it. The stirrups are also wrapped in leather which is something I really wanted in a western saddle.
Dislikes: I love this saddle. There's really nothing I dislike about it. A couple of notes I'll make are that the saddle is suppose to weigh 28 pounds but it feels much heavier. Also, when I first sat in it the seat overall seemed a little narrow to me for a western saddle, but I think it's because the saddle I was riding previously was a working saddle and those tend to be wider based and very thick around the horn.
Quality: The saddle is beautifully constructed and is of the highest quality. I get complements on it all the time. It is sturdy, comfortable and classy looking. I expect for it to last me a lifetime. The color, "tobacco", looks very rich with its silver plated hardware and looks gorgeous on my Palomino.
Summary: This is a "top of the line" trail saddle that I would recommend to anyone. I feel fortunate to have found it on tacktrader.
