Purchase: I got this pad at AQHA world trade show for about $120.
Likes: I like that I found a quality pad with memory foam in a contoured shape. The square pads are way to big & bulky for my round skirt saddle.
Dislikes: I have to cinch up a little tighter with this pad.
Quality: The construction of this pad is great. I like simple quality & that is what I got with this pad.
Summary: There were several reasons I was looking for a memory foam pad, I'll share a few. 1. I was having trouble with a green horse... he likes to buck. I had a Charmayne James air ride pad (paid a pretty price for it too) and discovered the thin thing filled with moving air was not such a great choice. Would love to have my money back on that deal. I'll save that for another review! I decided I needed something with a little give & no scary moving stuff between me & my "bronc".
2. My old saddle was probably not a perfect fit for all of my horses, therefore I figured a pad that conforms would be a good choice. It was!
This pad has given my horses a more comfortable fit and me a more secure feeling. Since I have been using this pad on my green horse, when he spooks, he jumps a little but doesn't leave me in the dust while he bucks off into the wild blue. Hmmm, maybe he didn't like bucking after all. One side note: be sure to get the pad with the felt bottom. You don't want a foam bottom pulling your horses hair like a rubber band pulling your ponytail!
