Purchase: I was looking through a Valley Vet Catalog with a girlfriend and she pointed out the Cashel soft saddle. She said she was thinking about buying one. I thought it was the coolest looking saddle. I love to ride bare back and thought this would give me the same feel, yet be more comfortable for my horse. I bought it at my local feed store, in Cool, California. I paid $249.00
Likes: I like that this saddle can get wet and not get ruined. It is very light and I don't have to struggle to put it on my horse. It is very comfortable and my horse likes it too.
Dislikes: I think this saddle needs some type of string or D-rings to tie you saddle bags to.
Quality: This is several layers of thick neoprene glued together. It weighs maybe 5 to 10 pounds.
Summary: This is a wonderful saddle. I have been riding in it for about 2 years and love it. Last year I did my first endurance ride in it. I rode 25 miles the first time and was a little nerves. I thought my horse would have a sore back, but I put a thick wonpad under it and all was great. I went on to ride a 30 miler and a 50 miler. I tried a barefoot saddle but their was no comparing it. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
